- Our biggest excitement is that Brad started a new job at work on Sunday night. He works production at a copper plant and accepted a job as a department leader on 3rd shift. Yea, the shift change sucks, but it is an advancement in the company. I'm used to him working during the day and being home at night to sleep in the bed with me. So, needless to say, Sunday night was a little strange. I was paranoid about it just being me and the kids in the house.
- Brayden's first week of school went wonderfully! He was just chomping at the bit to get out of the car Wednesday for his first day.
- Aslynn on the other hand, not so thrilled at having to get up at 7 AM to get Bubby to school. But now she won't have too since Daddy will be home by the time we leave.
- I spent some time this weekend with our friends, Ricky and Kelly and their two daughters. The kids played and had fun, the boys fished and Kelly and I made hair bows. I think it is time I pulled out my stash of hair bow stuff and start making some more.
- I may or may not have tried deer meat for the first time this weekend. I may or may not have also liked it.
- The kids are going to be having a "spendanight" with their MiMi and Keg this weekend before MiMi starts her clincals again. I know that Monica and Craig will sleep well after the dynamic duo spend some time over there.
- Hi, my name is Brittni and I'm addicted to Pinterest. If you haven't checked it out you should. And if you need an invite, hit a sister up. I love enabling people.
- Sometime over the course of the summer, my kitchen table was over taken. And not by anything of mine. But of Brad's. His jig making kind of shot off this summer and he's taken over the table and my oven. Oi Vey.
- I fried like a southern girl on Sunday night. That is a BIG deal to me. I was raised in the south by two yankee parents. I failed the first time I tried a few weeks ago, but Kelly showed me a few how to's and I feel like Sunday night's squash and zucchini pretty much rocked.
- Brayden has started to express himself more which means he is often telling his sister no or uh uh or things like that when she even looks in his general direction. Lord help me.

Ooops and a 10 on Tuesday
Life got a little bit busy this summer. I'm glad it did, I needed a busy summer, but I could really use a vacation. Oh well! I'll leave you with a 10 on Tuesday and kick start my blogging again.
- Brayden starts his 2nd year of pre-K tomorrow. He has been MORE than excited. We had orientation last week and ever since then I have heard, " Moooommmm, I'm ready for school". Bless his heart he is so excited.
- My sister and brother in law took the kids and I to the zoo for their birthday. I have a plethora of pictures to post at a later given time. Needless to say though, the "hoo-has" were a hit with Aslynn. Even if they were Zebras.
- I have 2 kittens that need homes. Yes, our lovely Maci gave birth to 5 kittens on June 24th.
- My living room got a nice, much needed redo. I no longer have drawings in various mediums on my walls. They are a nice shade of Valspar Wet Pavement. And needless to say, I got a few raised eyebrows when I said I was painting my living room Gray. I think it is beautiful though.
- I've been a crocheting madwoman lately. I'm currently working on a potholder or two for myself after whipping up a few for my sister per request.
- I'll post more about it later, but the kids birthday party was a hit. For now, you get a picture of their cake in which myself and Toni slaved for a week on the red buttercream.
- I love the song "Rolling in the Deep" by Adele and I saw this video posted over on another blog earlier today that caused me to smile and belt it out along with her.
- I got a wild hair yesterday and started priming the kids bedroom walls for their new coat of paint. When I bought the paint for the living room, I went ahead and got the paint for the kids room as well because, lets just say, it needs it BAD! So I started yesterday and the only thing on their walls giving me issues is, wait for it, BROWN SHARPIE. Brad saw it and asked if they drew on the primer AFTER I painted. Nope. I have three coats over the sharpie and no difference. Ugh.
- Heat. End of story. It has been hotter than Hades this summer. No lie. My utility bill proves it. My lack of outdoor pictures this summer proves it. I cannot wait for the fall.
- I may or may not have expanded my nail polish collection this summer. I also may or may not require a spreadsheet to track all of said polishes. I also may or may not have a special little storage unit for said polishes.

Ten on Tuesday
- Brayden didn't understand why he didn't go to school yesterday. All day long he kept asking for his backpack and trying to go out the door. Poor guy, just doesn't understand the concept of spring break just yet.
- NO MORE DIAPERS! That is correct!! Aslynn is potty trained! We're still dealing with naptime and nighttime issues but that is only because both children are heavy sleepers and don't wake up in time to get to the bathroom.
- I posted on Facebook the other day that Aslynn was lining up all of my nail polish and one of my friends said that I needed to get a picture. As scary of a thought that was, I did and I'm pleased to introduce you to my collection. Now there are a few missing because Aslynn is quite the piggy polish hoarder and I know just which ones I am missing.

- The picture also resulted in an excel document listing each and every color that I own and can physically touch. The list stopped at 85. I know that I have closer to 90 with those that are MIA.
- After browsing the numerous nail blogs that I now read, I have come to the conclusion that I need to invest in one of these. The drawers are the perfect height for nail polish bottles and it isn't too insanely tall :) It has been put on my wishlist and the hubster knows that I want one :)
- Going back to Brayden and school, we have his IEP review coming up on the 22nd. His teacher just loves having him and has nothing but praise when we talk about his progress each time he goes. His teacher is such a wonderful person and teacher to those children and every day that he goes and I pick him up, I tell her "thank you". I'm thankful, too, that he will have her again next year.
- I'm starting to plan their birthday party and we've already decided that they are getting bicycles from us for that special day. I think right now that we are going to do a "princess and dragon" party. Although I'm pretty sure Aslynn would be thrilled with a "pirate" birthday.
- I'm thinking I need to take stock in Dole or other banana growers. Aslynn and Brayden could live off of them on a daily basis. I honestly can't keep them stocked here at the house.
- I'm starting to get comfortable with my house not being immaculate. It stays picked up, but again, I have a hamper full of clean clothes in the laundry room at all times, there are toys that will always be in the living room and coloring books strewn all over their table. I'm okay with that.
- I really need to work on the kids though waking up as early as they do. I enjoy staying in the bed a little longer than they seem to allow in the mornings.

Ten on Tuesday
- I've been on a crocheting kick again lately. This time though, it has been pointed towards pot holders. I made two for my sister and quite a few more for here at the house. I have on incomplete on that I just can't bring myself to finish even though I oh am already like 95% done with it. I'm just not thrilled with how the last round is working out.
- The kids and I have been spending our free time during the day alternating between a movie, reading, the playground or doing crafts. I've become addicted to quite a few blogs dedicated only to crafts for toddlers, that soon I will be adding to my sidebar if you are interested.
- As a sort of " I need to collect myself moment" I spent a long weekend up there and went to the UT/UAB football game in September. Knoxville to me will always be home. I miss that place dearly and I try constantly to convince my Alabama cheering husband that we should move up there. He highly objects most of the time.
- While in Knoxville, I was introduce to the HBO series True Blood based on the Sookie Stackhouse novels. I had a few of the books lent to me prior to to read but never started. Then, I go up there, watch season 1 only to come home and within 2 weeks finish the other two seasons. So needless to say, I am up to date when the time comes for the next season to start.
- I <3 the winter! I hate what it does to my skin, but I love the clothes! I have an unhealthy sweater obsession and scarf obsession and I love, love, love to wear them! And now, I've been working on crocheting some hats and toboggans for our little family.
- I am totally digging this tutorial on Candy Corn Earrings made out of paint chips!!
- Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes are out!!! Eeek!!! Those are a total weakness of mine and I can't help it. There is a difference between those and the everyday cakes that they have out year round. I thought I was going to be let down this year because all I saw were the chocolate ones and that is just blasphemy. But I found them!!
- My latest indulgence has been the purchase of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory on Blu-ray. Not Charlie, but Willy! The original! Yes! On blu-ray! I was soo geeked when I saw it at Movie stop! I am a huge Roald Dahl fan so this was just fantastic!
- Scheduling posts may just save my blogging life! I sometimes tend to forget as the time gets closer to actually needing to post but this may keep things fresh!
- In the 4 weeks since I've moved back home, I have yet to cook one of my "typical" meals. Yes, that means that every time that I have cooked, I have made something different that I have never made before! I love it! I always run the idea through my husbeast before making the plan but he's pretty much game to try anything once and he will be the first to let you know if he doesn't like it.
