Hearts Afire! Feel the Love Blog Hop

Hello!!!  If you've been hopping along Jamie's blog hop, than you should have just come from Elizabeth's blog, Skittles and Scrapbooks.

If you didn't and you want to start all over or have gotten lost along the way, go visit Jamie's blog at Glitter, Stamps, and Paper Oh My! and you can start from the beginning.

I'm not much of a card maker, or a crafter with paper in general.  I am more of a fabric and fiber crafter.

I crochet and I am learning to quilt.

For this blog hop, I decided to work on a fun little doily that I could hang up in my daughter's room.  I used Coat's and Clark's pattern Hearts Desire and came up with this beauty.

Forgive the ruffle at the bottom, didn't have a chance to block it!

The pattern can actually be made using a variety of crochet yarns or even threads.  Seeing as how I'm not too comfortable just yet using the steel hooks, which are teeny tiny, I settled on using Pisgah's Peaches n' Cream cotton yarn in hot pink and white and an "F" hook.

After the Valentine's season is said and done, I plan on putting this bad boy in a bright frame and hanging it on her wall.

If you want to continue on with the blog hop, your next stop is Jesi over at Jesi's Things.

I admire your crochet skills, all I can make is a granny square. Wish I could do something with the little steel hooks.

Oh I so wish I knew how to do that. My Grandmom always used to make dollies and afghans and she passed away before she got to teach me so when I see it. It makes me think of her sitting in her chair with her yarn. You did a great job Britt!!!

Thanks my daughters name too.

Brittni,

What a beautiful doily!!! :) My great-grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was a kid, but I haven't done it in ages! You're motivating me to give it a try again!
